In honor of the masters of the steppe who came before us and gave rise to many of the world’s greatest nations and civilizations. The horse-riding, cattle-herding, bow-slinging nomads who spread their language, genetics, and culture as far as the land permitted them.

In this design are a pair of Scythian warriors swiftly marching their horses across the grasslands engaged in conflict, or perhaps more likely, conquest. And, of course, the all too famous ‘Balbal’. A kurgan funerary marker meant to act as an ancestor watching over the land that once riddled the landscape of the steppe lands. It also, frankly, looks just like me.

Is it periodically accurate? Not exactly. But it captures the essence and vital energy of the wild, untamed landscape that was once home to the forefathers of many nations and is still home to many to this day.
